Position SummaryOur company is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Safety Specialist to join our team. The Safety Specialist will be responsible for identifying and assessing potential safety hazards, developing and implementing safety protocols, and ensuring compliance will all safety regulations. The successful candidate will have a strong background in safety, preferrable in data center service operations, and a passion for promoting a safety and healthy work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Verify safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all company, local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct project management & regular risk assessments, inspections, and audits to identify potential safety hazards and risks for construction, battery maintenance/installation, HVAC, data center facility operations, commissioning, and other departments.
- Investigate incidents to determine their root causes and develop corrective action plans.
- Building and giving safety training to employees.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that safety issues are addressed and resolved in a timely manner.
- Monitor and review safety performance metrics to identify trend areas for improvement.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit;
Standing and walking is required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee must occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Education/Experience (Desired):
- Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental, engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 1-3 years of progressive experience in EHS in general industry, preferably with data center construction, maintenance, service and facility operations experience.
- Working knowledge of U.S Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and standards and other non-regulatory safety standards applicable to the location.
- Knowledgeable with NFPA 70E, DOT, and environmental compliance is a plus.
- Experience conducting incident investigations and can follow reporting processes. Communicate effectively with client safety team regarding incidents and other action items.
- Experience with JHAs, SOPs, MOPS, technical reports and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Computer
Skills:
- Knowledge with experience using Microsoft Office
Certificates and Licenses:
- BCSP credentials are a plus (CHST, CSP, etc.)

Pay Range: $74,851 - $112,222 per hour
