Overview

The Operations Lead is a key member of the store leadership team, responsible for driving and coaching the team toward profitability and operational efficiency. The Operations Lead works closely with the Operations & Visual Manager to initiate, delegate, and provide feedback on work, ensuring optimal results across all store operations.

Operations Leadership
  • Lead & execute inventory management processes with a focus on maximizing inventory accuracy and reducing shrink.
  • Investigate and root cause inventory accuracy issues, partnering with the General Manager to address process or system gaps.
  • Manage execution of key operational functions including shipment, receiving and processing, reverse transfers, sales floor recovery, intra‑day sales floor replenishment, floor set updates, and supply management.
  • Champion strong visual standards for the sales floor.
  • Support a safe work environment and efficient operation through strong stockroom standards and processes.
Business Leadership
  • Partner with the Operations & Visual Manager to manage reporting, budgets, expenses, inventory control, supplies, vendor relationships, technology, and facilities.
  • Demonstrate strong business acumen by leveraging metrics to support business‑driving strategies.
  • Move dynamically on the retail floor to assess and fulfill the needs of the business, team, and guests.
People Leadership
  • Lead by example and inspire staff in daily operations and guest experience.
  • Directly oversee the Operations Associates; responsible for recruitment and development of talent.
  • Use company performance tools to evaluate each operations associate and provide constant feedback to drive individual growth and improvement in partnership with the store leader.
Business Partner
  • Collaborate with the Visual Lead to ensure cross‑functional training, and with the Sales & Service Lead to ensure the business is well‑executed.
  • Execute company‑level operations‑focused directives, projects, and initiatives in partnership with the Operations & Visual Manager (e.g., from the SCC).
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of prior work experience in a client‑centric, sales environment.
  • Proven leadership capabilities demonstrating excellent decision making.
  • Values feedback, receptive to receiving feedback and eager to provide.
  • High energy, upbeat, and enthusiastic with the ability to integrate fun and work.
  • Self‑motivated with a desire to achieve results and excel individually, and as a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Aligns with and embodies ALO’s Guiding Principles.
  • Job Level: Associate.
Work Hours & Availability

The Lead role is full‑time, requiring 32–40 hours per week. Employees are expected to have open availability, work variable shifts—including peak days and weekends—and be able to work during the company’s Blackout period (the week of American Thanksgiving through the first week of January).

Compensation

The Lead base pay ranges from $19.00 to $23.00 per hour in Ashburn, VA. Leads are eligible to participate in the company’s Monthly Store Incentive bonus program, which may increase total compensation. The range listed is one component of the total rewards package for retail employees, which may also include clothing allowance, employee discount, 401(k), and commuter benefits.
