Responsibilities- Support the store manager in the execution of the store strategy to achieve performance goals and drive the business forward within the store.
- Lead the team by teaching, coaching and modeling a high‑performing culture that delivers a best‑in‑class experience to customers.
- Partner with the store manager to monitor financial targets, track measurable statistics, and provide feedback and analysis on sales, traffic, and floor coverage.
- Manage store staff schedules to maximize sales, traffic flow, and customer engagement; adjust schedules as necessary.
- Provide consistent coaching on sales, product and staff training to ensure the highest level of customer service and sales.
- Execute and support effective store communications, ensuring staff is involved and updated.
- Maintain the Southern Tide aesthetic across all touch points—including associate presentation, dress, visual standards, maintenance and merchandising—to create a fully branded environment.
- Assist in recruitment, selection and onboarding of store staff, and coach them on selling and service skills to exceed sales targets.
- Maintain visual merchandising and maintenance standards, and ensure all operational policies and procedures are followed.
- Oversee POS accuracy, bank deposits, opening and closing procedures, merchandise receipts, transfers, cash handling and reporting functions.
- Enforce people and loss‑prevention policies, and manage employee paperwork including payroll, time/attendance and discipline.
- High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in Business and/or Merchandising preferred.
- Generally, 4+ years of retail experience with a minimum of two years in a supervisory/management role.
- Solid computer skills – proficiency in Outlook, Excel and Word; basic retail math skills.
- Experience with POS systems; exposure to merchandising and retail visual concepts is a plus.
