Join a leading provider of mission-critical facility services as an HVAC Technician III, Critical Systems, based in Ashburn, VA. In this senior-level role, you will serve as the lead technician overseeing the installation, maintenance, and operation of mechanical systems in a high-availability data center environment. - Lead and perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs on all HVAC equipment, including air and water-cooled chillers, centrifugal and screw package chillers, natural gas boilers, unit heaters, electric duct heaters, cooling towers, and various water pumps.
- Operate, maintain, and upgrade Building Automation Software and controls, including pneumatic, DDC, and variable frequency drive systems.
- Oversee HVAC air distribution systems, such as air handling units (AHUs), fan coil units (FCUs), fans, and related devices.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with contractual commitments for mechanical services and maintenance.
- Provide guidance, leadership, and technical expertise to junior technicians, supporting their development and training.
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond to after-hours assignments as required.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to maintenance activities and system performance.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor to support facility operations.
- Demonstrate regular and reliable attendance as an essential function of the role.
- Travel up to 50% to job sites as needed
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 7 years of large commercial HVAC service experience required; 8 years preferred.
- Completion of a basic air conditioning theory class.
- Proficiency in the use of HVAC diagnostic tools and instruments.
- Experience with DDC, pneumatic, and variable frequency drive controls.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office or related software.
- Ability to satisfactorily complete any required client background checks or training.
- Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Universal Certification preferred.
- Virginia Journeyman HVAC license preferred.
- OSHA certification preferred.
- Valid Virginia or Maryland driver’s license required.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance preferred.
- Travel up to 50% to job sites as needed
