Overview
The Homeland Sector within Leidos is seeking a Mobile Application Developer to provide technical expertise on a mission‑critical program whose purpose is to develop, modernize, enhance, operate, and maintain services for DHS/CBP mission critical systems. Mobile developers will use strong communication skills and hands‑on technical troubleshooting to support application issues and implement preventative measures.
ResponsibilitiesIn this hands‑on position, you will work collaboratively to architect, design, build, deliver, and enhance highly available, scalable, real‑time systems. You will exercise your judgment in determining and recommending the best designs based on customer business objectives, timelines, and resource constraints. You will participate in and/or direct major deliverables of projects through all aspects of the software development lifecycle including scope and work estimation, architecture and design, coding and unit testing.
LocationCandidate must be based in Ashburn, VA and available to work onsite 2 days per week.
Basic Qualifications- BS/BA degree and 10 years of prior relevant experience or Master’s with 8 years of prior relevant experience; or 4 years of additional experience in lieu of degree
- At least 5 years of experience with Mobile Application Development, with both Android and iOS
- Experience in both Front‑end Mobile and Back‑end RESTful API development
- Experience in developing JAVA and Node.js applications
- Experience with both No
SQL and SQL databases - Strong application testing discipline
- Experience with Google’s Flutter engine and Dart language or a similar Android/iOS framework
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and creative thinking
- Proficiency in Postgres, Spring Boot, SQL, Kafka, MySQL, Struts, Hibernate, Java, JSF, Swing, JavaScript, Bootstrap, and Angular/React is desired
- Knowledge of software design patterns
- Experience with an issue/problem tracking system such as Jira
- Proficiency with common Agile practices, service‑oriented environments, and modern development practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Dev Ops frameworks
- U.S. Citizen
- Must be able to maintain and obtain a CBP Background Investigation prior to start
- Active CBP Background Investigation
- Experience with CBP
- AWS experience
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline
- Experience working in an Agile environment
