The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a wide range of powered access equipment and telehandlers, ensuring all machinery is maintained to the highest standards before leaving the depot.
About the RoleWorking as part of the engineering team, you will carry out planned servicing, pre-delivery inspections and repairs on a variety of powered access machines and telehandlers. This is a depot-based role where you will diagnose faults, complete repairs efficiently and ensure equipment is ready for customer hire.
The role would suit candidates from a powered access, plant machinery, forklift, agricultural machinery or material handling background who have strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault-finding skills.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on powered access equipment and telehandlers.
- Complete pre-delivery inspections (PDI) to ensure equipment is hire ready.
- Diagnose hydraulic, mechanical and electrical faults.
- Repair and maintain a modern fleet of powered access machinery.
- Complete preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs.
- Accurately complete digital service reports and maintenance records.
- Work efficiently to manage workloads and meet service deadlines.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety within the workshop.
- Previous experience as a Powered Access Engineer, Plant Fitter, Plant Engineer, Forklift Engineer, Mobile Plant Engineer, Workshop Engineer or Service Engineer.
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault-finding experience.
- Experience servicing plant machinery, forklifts, telehandlers or powered access equipment.
- IPAF 3a/3b and CAP qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential.
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
- Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Salary of £30,000 - £40,000 depending on experience.
