WCE Program Coordinator

The Workforce Continuing Education (WCE) Program Coordinator reports directly to the Dean, Workforce, Industry Partnerships & Skilled Trades. This position provides leadership, coordination, and instructional support for workforce and continuing education programs within an assigned instructional division. The Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of workforce training, short-term credentials, industry certifications, and employer-driven programs aligned with divisional pathways.

In alignment with the College's One-College model, the WCE Program Coordinator works collaboratively with faculty, department heads, Deans, and workforce staff to ensure that programs are responsive, high-quality, compliant, and clearly connected to credit pathways, credentials, and employment opportunities.

Duties

Workforce Program Coordination & Development

  • Coordinate the planning, scheduling, and delivery of workforce continuing education programs within the assigned division
  • Support the development of new noncredit courses, short-term credentials, and training programs based on employer demand, labor market needs, and divisional priorities
  • Collaborate with faculty and department heads to align noncredit training with credit programs and stackable pathways
  • Serve as a liaison between the division and workforce, employer, and community partners
Program Marketing & Outreach
  • Collaborate with Workforce Continuing Education, college marketing, and divisional staff to promote programs, courses, and training opportunities to target audiences
  • Assist in the development and dissemination of marketing materials, including program flyers, social media content, employer communications, and website updates
  • Support outreach efforts to increase enrollment, including recruitment events, information sessions, and community engagements
  • Coordinate communication strategies to ensure accurate, timely, and consistent messaging to prospective students, employers, and partners
  • Track and provide input on marketing effectiveness and enrollment trends to inform outreach strategies
Instructional Responsibilities (as needed)
  • Teach workforce continuing education courses, seminars, training sessions, and/or credit courses based on credentials, expertise, and program demand as assigned
  • Deliver instruction using appropriate modalities (in-person, hybrid, online, accelerated, or cohort-based)
  • Develop or adapt instructional materials aligned with industry standards and employer expectations
  • Ensure instructional quality, student engagement, and learning outcomes in all assigned courses
  • Maintain required instructional credentials and participate in professional development
Employer & Community Engagement
  • Support employer engagement efforts by assisting with needs assessments, program customization, and workforce solutions
  • Participate in advisory meetings, industry round tables, and outreach activities as appropriate
  • Promote programs to employers, community partners, and internal stakeholders in coordination with divisional and workforce staff
Operations, Compliance & Collaboration
  • Work collaboratively with Workforce Continuing Education Operations staff to ensure accurate scheduling, reporting, compliance, payroll processing, and resource coordination.
  • Assist with documentation related to course approvals, instructor qualifications, attendance, and program accountability
  • Support instructor payroll processes, including collection and submission of required documentation and verification of instructional hours
  • Facilitate ordering, tracking, and management of program supplies, materials, and equipment in coordination with divisional and workforce staff
  • Ensure timely processing of purchasing requests, invoices, and related documentation in accordance with college procedures
  • Coordinate with divisional leadership to ensure efficient use of instructional resources, space, and equipment
  • Support grant-funded or special workforce initiatives as assigned
Data, Quality & Continuous Improvement
  • Monitor enrollment, completion, and participant feedback to support program improvement
  • Use data and stakeholder input to recommend program revisions or expansions
  • Monitor program expenses (e.g., supplies, materials, instructional needs) to support cost-effective program delivery and planning
  • Contribute to divisional planning related to workforce growth, program relevance, and student/employer outcomes
Required and

Preferred Qualifications

Required

  • An associate's degree in a discipline related to the instructional division, workforce development, business, education, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution; OR substantial experience with industry-recognized equivalent certifications/licenses.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in workforce training, continuing education, postsecondary instruction, or industry-related practice
