Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students with significant support needs in two functional skills classrooms. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact by guiding both elementary and high school students using tailored instruction strategies. As an Adapted Curriculum specialist, you will deliver specialized instruction, ensuring individualized education plan (IEP) implementation and working closely with dedicated classroom facilitators.

Qualifications

&

Preferred Experience:
  • Valid teaching license with Adapted Curriculum certification required
  • Background in special education, specifically with functional skills or students requiring significant support
  • Experience delivering specialized instruction tailored to varied academic and functional skill levels
  • Comfortable collaborating with classroom staff in a co-teaching or facilitator-supported setting
  • Skilled in IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
  • Preferred:
    Experience managing paperwork and caseload tasks for special education students
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging, individualized instruction to elementary students (6 students, first half of day) and high school students (7 students, second half of day) in functional skills settings
  • Oversee the implementation and monitoring of students’ IEPs, ensuring compliance and progress
  • Partner daily with classroom facilitators to optimize learning and behavior support
  • Handle the caseload paperwork and documentation required for assigned students
  • Adapt instructional materials and teaching techniques to meet diverse learning needs
  • Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that celebrates student achievements
