Overview

Inpatient Operations Manager – Asheboro, NC. This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position.

Schedule:

Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm.

Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day administrative and operational leadership for the inpatient unit, ensuring efficient, compliant, and patient-centered operations, focusing on non-clinical functions such as staffing coordination, facilities oversight, supply chain management, regulatory readiness, budget monitoring, and interdisciplinary coordination.
  • Collaborate with clinical leadership to remove operational barriers and support high-quality care delivery.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations of inpatient operational staff in collaboration with clinical leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure staffing plans meet regulatory requirements and approved operational standards at all times.
  • Provide operational support during census surges or staffing challenges to ensure continuity of services.
  • Develop, implement, and promote operational workflows that support patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvement through data analyses and workflow optimization.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for inpatient unit needs and coordinate staffing schedules within budgetary guidelines.
  • Achieve super-user status for clinical applications and care support modules (e.g., MyUnity, DME Portal, Dr. First).
  • Anticipate staffing needs based on trends in collaboration with the Director of Inpatient Services.
  • Support onboarding, orientation logistics, and competency tracking for staff.
  • Engage with patients and families, visitors, as applicable, to promote service delivery excellence.
  • Ensure the physical plant is safe, clean, and well-maintained; coordinate with facilities, environmental services, and dietary staff as applicable.
  • Track and report operational metrics (e.g., census, length of stay drivers, throughput indicators) as assigned or directed.
  • Support organizational planning specific to inpatient service lines, as applicable, and serve as a liaison between inpatient staff and other stakeholders.
  • Support documentation and record reviews to ensure alignment with organizational expectations and operational standards; communicate updates clearly and consistently.
  • Foster a supportive, compassionate work culture that empowers staff, promotes teamwork, encourages professional growth, and strengthens retention.
  • Ensure inpatient operations comply with all applicable policies, licensure, certification, accreditation, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health or related field preferred. Healthcare operations experience or related credential/licensure may be considered in lieu of education.
  • 2–3 years of healthcare operations or administrative management experience required; 2–3 years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience in inpatient/hospital/hospice/post-acute care settings required.
  • Valid NC driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current automobile liability insurance at agency-required limits.
