Randolph Electric Membership Corporation (Randolph EMC) is seeking a visionary, collaborative, and hands-on Director of Information Technology to lead our technology strategy and critical infrastructure systems. The Opportunity

As the Director of Information Technology, you will serve as the strategic and operational leader for all enterprise technology, operational technology (OT), cybersecurity, and infrastructure. Reporting directly to the CEO and you will partner with executive leadership, protect critical assets, and deliver seamless technology experiences to employees and member-owners.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic IT Leadership & Governance: Develop, direct, and execute the Cooperative's multi-year technology roadmaps, IT governance standards, capital/operating budgets, and strategic vendor partnerships.

Cybersecurity & Risk Management: Champion a robust security posture by overseeing threat detection, vulnerability management, compliance audits, business continuity, disaster recovery, and incident response across all IT and OT environments.

Critical Infrastructure & Utility Operations: Oversee the architecture, resilience, and lifecycle of core enterprise and operational systems, including SCADA, GIS, Outage Management Systems (OMS), advanced metering/billing, and field communications.

Team Leadership & Development: Directly supervise the Network Administrator, fostering a culture of continuous learning, cross-training, accountability, and outstanding internal service delivery.

Emergency Response & Operational Continuity: Ensure robust, resilient communication and system availability during major storm restorations and emergency operations.

Executive Collaboration: Deliver clear, actionable updates and presentations to executive management and the Board of Directors regarding IT investments, cybersecurity posture, and reliability metrics.

Position Requirements & Work Arrangement

Work Arrangement: In-Person / On-Site at our Asheboro, NC headquarters to ensure collaborative leadership, strong operational alignment, and direct engagement with field and engineering operations.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience).

Experience:

At least 8 years of progressive IT experience, including 3+ years in a supervisory, management, or substantial technical leadership role.

Experience managing IT strategy, enterprise architectures, infrastructure, vendor contracts, and departmental budgets.

Experience with in an electric utility or cooperative environment (including SCADA, GIS, OMS, or field communications) is strongly preferred.

Preferred Credentials: Industry-recognized certifications such as CISSP, CISM, PMP, ITIL, or comparable credentials.

Licenses & Certifications: Valid North Carolina Driver's License; CPR and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
