The Post Consumer Brands plant in Asheboro, NC, features some of the most modern cereal production technology in the industry and the facility has quadrupled in size since it opened in 2007. Asheboro's 200+ team members produce some of our newest and most innovative cereals, like Oreo Puff's cereal! While there is plenty to do right in Asheboro, the town is only a few hours from the Atlantic Ocean in one direction and the Blue Ridge Mountains in the other direction.
ResponsibilitiesThis role supports mechanical, electrical, and electronic maintenance across plant production equipment. You’ll help maintain equipment reliability, respond to production issues, and support strong safety, food safety, and quality practices in a clean, highly automated manufacturing environment.
Schedule:
5:45 PM – 5:50 AM
2‑2‑3 rotation with built‑in overtime and every other weekend off
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic production equipment
- Respond to production trouble calls and coordinate repairs with operations
- Complete work orders and preventive maintenance activities
- Support food safety, quality, environmental, and safety standards (SQF)
- Analyze equipment issues and assist with root cause and reliability improvements
- Collaborate with maintenance, operations, engineering, and predictive maintenance teams
- Maintain accurate equipment history and maintenance records using CMMS
- Identify and support projects that improve safety, productivity, quality, and cost
- Provide direction to contractors and vendors as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned to support plant operations
Education:
- Vocational or technical training in maintenance or related field
- 1–2 years of hands‑on technical training preferred
- Boiler, refrigeration, plumbing, or electrical licenses a plus
- Equivalent education and experience accepted
- 2+ years of plant or production maintenance experience
- Mechanical, electrical, and electronic troubleshooting skills
- Experience with production and utility equipment
- Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and machine tools
- Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics
- Comfortable learning and using a maintenance system (CMMS)
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross‑functional teams
- Safety and quality‑focused problem solver
