A highly skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) is needed for our outpatient Cardiology practice. The selected clinician will provide patient care under a collaborative, team‑based model, conducting thorough examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, and participating in ongoing clinical and research activities.
Responsibilities- Conduct clinical evaluations and examinations in a clinic setting.
- Apply medical decision‑making skills to determine appropriate patient care plans.
- Collaborate with the medical team when needed for effective team‑based care.
- Order and interpret laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures; explain the necessity, preparation, nature, and anticipated effects of scheduled procedures to patients.
- Perform procedural skills as per department or practice guidelines.
- Participate in basic science and clinical research projects.
- Precept students and/or medical learners as encouraged.
- Uphold AHWFB missions, values, and cultural commitment.
- Perform related duties incidental to the work described herein.
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program;
Master’s Degree preferred. - Current North Carolina Medical Board medical license, certified by NCCPA.
- Minimum of two years of experience in a cardiovascular or heart‑failure care environment.
- BLS and ACLS certification required.
- Current DEA registration required to start.
- Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Master’s Program;
Master’s degree or higher required. - Current North Carolina Board of Nursing registered nurse and nurse practitioner license.
- Board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by AANP or ANCC.
- Prior nursing experience in a cardiology environment preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience in a cardiovascular or heart‑failure care environment.
- BLS and ACLS certification required.
- Current DEA registration required to start.
- CME reimbursement: up to $2,500 annually and five additional paid time off days for Continuing Medical Education.
