The Resource Nurs (Unit Manager/Coordinator) is responsible for overseeing the day‑to‑day resident care and unit operations. Provide supervision and/or directions to nursing staff providing direct resident care. The Resource Nurse ensures the unit meets regulatory standards and maintains a positive environment for residents and their families.
Responsibilities & Duties- Manage and direct nursing staff to ensure quality resident care is held, assessments, medication administration, and treatment interventions are delivered to the highest standard.
- Monitor the unit to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, and facility policies and procedures.
- Act as a point of contact for residents and their families, addressing concerns, providing updates, and fostering a supportive environment.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including review care plans, monitoring outcomes, and addressing issues to enhance resident care.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, other healthcare professionals and facility management to ensure coordinated care.
- Monitors resident's condition and assist in communicating to the physician changes in resident's condition, diagnostic test results, etc.
- Monitor staff compliance with infection control protocols to help prevent the spread of infections.
- Monitor documentation to ensure accurate and detailed resident records, assessments, medication administration and other relevant care information is accurate, complete and in compliance with standards of care and company policy.
- Understand and adhere to facility policies and procedures.
- Experience working in a healthcare setting, particularly in long‑term care
- Ability to perform in a high stress, fast‑paced environment
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a Valid State Licensure as an RN
- Current CPR certification
Employee is frequently required to stand, sit, bend, stoop, use keyboard, see, talk and hear. May lift medium to heavy objects including assisting with the movement of residents. Employee is occasionally exposed to blood or other body fluids, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
