Metrology Manager

• Schedule all measuring and testing workload in the metrology lab.
• Supervise and develop the metrology personnel, including metrology technicians and dimensional inspectors.
• Ensure all gauging calibration.
• Oversight of measurements for all "C", "Q", DOE, FFA, MFA and PPAP inspections.
• Perform product capability studies.
• Ensure data provided to quality, project managers, engineers, etc. is accurate and in a usable format.
• Develop programs for all measurement equipment and identify the appropriate equipment for the dimension being measured.
• Assist in set-up of new physical testing and perform R&R studies on new gauging.
• Design/oversee all fabricated gauges built in-house or outsourced including CMM fixtures, vision fixtures, dedicated gages, Go/No-Go gauges, deco gages, etc.
• Aid in the recommendations and purchase of any new measuring/test equipment plantwide.
• Aid in streamlining in-process checks and interpreting prints for control plans.
• Negotiate annual measuring equipment contracts.
• Meet with customers pre-production to discuss gauging and cost and work with their designer on reference system improvement to meet the product functional and design intent where needed.
• Account for monthly metrology budget.
• Assist metrology information to new job quote.
• Experience and be open with new metrology technology applications such as surface scanning (structured light/laser, etc..) and volumetric scanning (CT) through analyzing such data.
