CDL Class A Truck Driver Solo

Position Overview

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Lexington, NC— offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about.

• Average weekly pay: $1600 – $1800 (guaranteed)
• Solo miles pay: $0.56 per mile (2000 miles per week)
• Solo stops pay: $21.00 per stop (20‑25 stops per week)
• Sign‑on bonus: $1250 after 30 days and $1250 after 90 days
• Truck compensation: $65 per night with 3‑5 nights per week
• Backhaul program: extra miles + $50 pickup / $50 delivery pay
• Schedule:
  
  Sunday to Friday

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and agency laws, regulations, and guidelines.
• Detect, eliminate, or minimize safety hazards and maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load and unload freight, or assist in the loading/unloading of freight if required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical and Ryder road test.
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor‑trailer or comparable vehicle within: 9 months in the past 3 years, 2 years in the past 5 years, or 5 years in the past 10 years.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

• Medical, dental, and vision coverage after 30 days.
• 80 hours PTO in the first year, starting Day 1 (use it or get paid for it).
• Uniforms, cell phone, and boot allowance provided.
• Drivers are the captain—making safety decisions; job is protected.
