A growing manufacturing and distribution company is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day accounting operations while helping lead the implementation of Quick Books Enterprise. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys improving processes, working independently, and making a meaningful impact in a growing business.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
- Maintain accurate inventory records and reconcile inventory transactions, adjustments, and variances.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Prepare financial reports and provide timely financial information to leadership.
- Partner with operations to ensure inventory movements and costing are accurately recorded.
- Support the implementation and optimization of Quick Books Enterprise, including data migration, system setup, and process improvements.
- Develop and document accounting procedures and strengthen internal controls.
- Prepare sales tax filings and other recurring compliance reporting.
- Coordinate with an external CPA for year-end financial reporting and tax preparation.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency.
- Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as needed
Qualifications
- 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Required experience with inventory accounting.
- Manufacturing, wholesale distribution, or other inventory-intensive industry experience preferred.
- Experience implementing or transitioning to Quick Books Enterprise is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience with inventory costing methodologies and inventory controls.
- Experience improving accounting processes or participating in ERP/accounting system implementations
