Marion Correctional Institution is a close‑custody prison housing male offenders. Marion Correctional Institution serves as the hub for healthcare for the male offender population. The facility is designed to house a maximum capacity of 793 offenders.

The Administrative Specialist I position requires general knowledge of medical office practices and procedures to review, verify, complete, record, and/or balance records, reports, and figures. The Administrative Specialist I reports to the Nurse Supervisor. This position is responsible for maintaining medical records in a confidential manner and performing duties according to policy and procedures.

Duties
  • Maintaining medical records, documents and materials.
  • Verifying data, summarizing information.
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets to track specific information.
  • Maintain records filing according to policy.
  • Ordering supplies and materials.
  • Provide excellent customer service to medical providers, the public and facility staff.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)/Management Preferences

Salary Range: $39,244.00 - $68,679.00

Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.

The Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)/Management Preferences Are Not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:

  • Demonstrated experience performing administrative functions in an office setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate office equipment/computers.
  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining confidential information.
  • Demonstrated experience in organization, retention, review and filing of records.
  • Demonstrate knowledge medical terminology.
