This position will provide administrative and ministry support to the Campus Pastor and help coordinate the day-to-day ministry needs of The Orchard Church West Asheville. This position exists to strengthen the effectiveness of the church by creating organization, maintaining clear communication, coordinating ministry details, and to ensure people are cared for and followed up with.

Description

Key Responsibilities

Campus Pastor and Administrative Support

  • Provide administrative support to the Campus Pastor, including coordinating schedules, meetings, appointments, ministry priorities, communication, calendars, records, and follow-up.
  • Answer and manage incoming church phone calls, responding to routine needs and directing pastoral or ministry matters appropriately.
  • Prepare and organize materials, communication, files, forms, and resources necessary for meetings, ministry initiatives, and churchwide activities.

Kids Ministry Support

  • Provide administrative and organizational support to Kids Ministry leadership.
  • Assist with volunteer scheduling and communication, Planning Center, check-in, supplies, curriculum, registrations, family communication, special events, and weekly ministry logistics.

Operations and Ministry Coordination

  • Coordinate administrative and logistical needs for weekly ministry activities, special events, and other campus needs.
  • Coordinate ministry supplies, materials, equipment, purchasing, and facility-related needs, including preparation for baptisms and Communion.
  • Assist ministry leaders with volunteer recruitment, communication, scheduling, and coordination.

Guest Assimilation and Member Care

  • Coordinate guest and next-step follow-up, maintaining accurate information and workflows within Planning Center to help ensure people do not fall through the cracks.
  • Assist with communication and coordination for membership, baptisms, serving opportunities, and other next steps
  • Coordinate member-care needs, prayer requests, and pastoral follow-up with the appropriate pastor, deacon, or ministry leader.

Other Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain appropriate confidentiality regarding personal, pastoral, financial, and ministry information.
  • Participate in staff meetings and support other ministry needs as assigned by the Campus Pastor.

  • A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ, a growing personal relationship with Him, and a strong prayer life.
  • Evidence of moral character and a lifestyle consistent with The Orchard Church's Constitution, Bylaws, and Statement of Faith.
  • Commitment to and support of The Orchard Church's mission, vision, guiding principles, philosophy of ministry, Campus Pastor, and leadership.
  • Professional, self-motivated, personable, and aware of the cultural and social environment of the church and surrounding community.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and varying demands on time and energy in a ministry environment.
