Assistant Project Manager – Commercial Construction

Salary: $70,000 – $100,000 + Full Benefits

With a strong pipeline across Western North Carolina, this team delivers complex Healthcare, Higher Education, and K-12 projects

This is an office-based APM position supporting Project Managers on commercial builds across the healthcare and education sectors. You will play a key role in coordinating documentation, managing subcontractor communication, supporting preconstruction efforts, and helping ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.

• Assist Project Managers with day-to-day project coordination
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
• Support budgeting, cost tracking, and subcontractor buyout
• Coordinate with field teams to ensure smooth project execution
• Participate in client and subcontractor meetings
• Assist during preconstruction phases, including document review and scope coordination
• Help maintain project schedules and reporting

• Minimum 3 years of experience with a Commercial General Contractor
• Experience on Healthcare, Higher Education, or K-12 projects strongly preferred
• Exposure to both new construction and renovation projects
• Construction Management and/or Design-Build experience is a plus
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Desire to grow into a Project Manager role long term
