Job Summary
HDR is looking for a Construction Inspector to perform construction engineering and inspection duties on highway and bridge construction projects in North Carolina utilizing NCDOT policies and procedures. Responsibilities include materials testing, reporting and documentation, reading construction drawings, identifying discrepancies, and enforcing contract documents.
Preferred Qualifications- Minimum of 1 year of experience inspecting transportation projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Work requires travel to meetings, site visits, and inspections.
- Must be licensed to operate motor vehicles in accordance with applicable state law.
- NCDOT experience preferred.
- Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Management experience a plus.
- Local candidates preferred.
- High School diploma or equivalent (or 8 years of relevant construction inspection experience may substitute).
- A minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Proficient with MS Office.
- Proven problem‑solving and documentation abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Successful passing of drug‑screening procedures; subject to random and cause drug and alcohol testing.
