POSITION: Assistant Project Manager
LOCATION: Asheville, North Carolina
WORK TYPE: On-Site
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
: 2+ Years (Commercial Construction Preferred)
SALARY: Depending on Experience
JOB TYPE: Full-Time
The Assistant Project Manager supports the planning, coordination, and execution of commercial
construction projects from preconstruction through completion. This role assists with project schedules,
budgets, subcontractor coordination, documentation, and quality control while ensuring projects are
completed safely, on time, and within budget. Experience in healthcare, K-12, or higher education
construction is preferred.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Project Manager with all phases of commercial construction projects.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel to maintain project schedules.
- Help prepare, update, and monitor project schedules and budgets.
- Track project progress and resolve scheduling or operational issues.
- Participate in meetings with clients, subcontractors, and project teams.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Prepare project reports, documentation, RFIs, submittals, and correspondence.
- Support quality control, safety compliance, and project closeout activities.
- Build strong relationships with clients, vendors, and project stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of commercial construction experience.
- Experience in healthcare, K-12, or higher education projects preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules.
- Knowledge of Construction Management-at-Risk (CMAR) is a plus.
- Self-motivated with strong leadership potential and attention to detail.
