ASRS Construction Project Manager-Automation & Warehousing

RGD Project Management provides owner’s representative and project management support for complex capital projects in pharmaceutical, biotech, advanced manufacturing, and industrial environments. RGD supports clients from design assist and procurement through construction management, commissioning, validation support, and turnover. The team brings deep field expertise in safety, quality, and GMP project execution across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, controls, utilities, and process construction and installation.

This role will coordinate contractors, trades, equipment vendors, consultants, and project teams through installation, commissioning, testing, and turnover. Candidates should have project management experience in construction, warehouse automation, material handling, industrial equipment installation, or a similar environment.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and execution.
• Manage construction and installation activities associated with automated material handling and warehouse systems.
• Coordinate equipment installation, commissioning, testing, startup, and turnover.
• Drive daily coordination between construction trades, equipment vendors, automation providers, and project partners.
• Manage sequencing and interface issues between building construction and equipment installation.
• Monitor contractor and vendor performance against project requirements and schedule.
• Identify and manage scope changes affecting cost, schedule, design, or execution.
• Coordinate design, permitting, and construction documentation required to support project delivery.
• Coordinate with project controls and cost management teams on estimates, forecasts, cost reviews, and budget reconciliation.
• Identify value engineering and cost-saving opportunities while maintaining project requirements and quality.
• Develop and maintain project plans and action items through completion.
• Prepare Project Management Plans, fee and budget proposals, and project cost and revenue projections.
• Support commissioning, operational readiness, and final turnover.

• Project management experience in construction, industrial equipment installation, material handling, warehouse automation, or a related environment.
• Experience managing installation of automated or complex equipment systems.
• Experience with one or more of the following:
• Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS)
• AGVs or Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs)
• Automated conveyor or sortation systems
• Warehouse automation systems
• Material handling equipment
• Experience coordinating multiple contractors, trades, equipment vendors, or system integrators.
• Experience with equipment commissioning, testing, startup, or turnover.
• Experience managing project scope, schedule, cost, change, and vendor performance.
• Working knowledge of construction documents, design coordination, permitting, and project controls.
• High-bay warehouse, industrial, HVAC, or MEP experience is a plus.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, or related field preferred.
