Construction Inspector | Civil / Land Development | $55K–$72K
Asheville, NC
Heartline Staffing is recruiting a Construction Inspector for an engineering firm in Asheville, North Carolina. This field-focused role provides quality-assurance inspections across development projects and serves as a key resource for project managers, contractors, developers, and other project stakeholders.
The Construction Inspector will monitor construction activities, review work against project plans and specifications, support technical documentation, and help ensure compliance with applicable construction regulations and safety requirements.
COMPENSATION- $55,000–$72,000 annual salary
- Provide general inspection of construction activities across multiple projects.
- Monitor site work and installations performed by contractors and utility providers.
- Review construction activity against site plans, engineering drawings, and project requirements.
- Audit projects for cost and constructability considerations.
- Analyze design and surveying issues encountered during project execution.
- Assist with preparation of bid documents, technical specifications, and project reports.
- Participate in staff meetings and communicate critical project issues to management.
- Maintain accurate and timely project records.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with management, developers, contractors, and public agencies.
- Four years of experience in paraprofessional engineering or construction trades, including areas such as design, surveying, materials testing, or drafting REQUIRED
- Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from an accredited institution REQUIRED
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction trends, and mathematics REQUIRED
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local codes and regulations governing construction REQUIRED
- Experience with AutoCAD REQUIRED
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard company software packages REQUIRED
- Strong report-writing, presentation, and customer-service skills REQUIRED
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record REQUIRED
