Job Description Summary Duties
Assignment(s) may vary among Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) instruction and/or continuing education instruction.
Instruction of topics in Law Enforcement (and Law Enforcement related topics) is needed as well as providing hands-on instruction in some specialty courses.
Proficiency Testing at the end of the blocks of instruction may be needed. Evaluation of learning requirements is ongoing.
Minimum Requirements
1. NC General Instructor Certification including Probationary General Instructors or Professional Lecturer Certified Instructors. Instructor Certification is granted through the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training and Standards Commission and/or the North Carolina Sheriff's Education and Training and Standards Commission.
Preferred Qualifications Special Instructions to Applicants
1. This is a continuous recruitment to create an applicant pool. Openings may or may not exist at this time. Applications are evaluated on an as-needed basis only when hiring managers have a position that needs to be filled or class(es) that need to be staffed from semester to semester. 2. Must have references completed before employment can begin. Documentation is expected when interviewed.
3. The unofficial transcript must list the individual courses taken. Diplomas will not be considered in lieu of an unofficial transcript.
4. If selected for hire, official sealed transcripts from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the Department of Education or official transcript evaluation (required if the degree was attained outside the US) from a National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) recognized organization, are required to be received a minimum of two business weeks before the first day of work.
Failure to comply may result in revocation of the job offer.
