Adjunct Instructor, Electrical Systems Technology (Correctional and/or High Schools) Position Summary
Provide in-person instruction for Electrical courses at a local correctional facility and/or high schools. This position involves teaching practical and theoretical aspects of electronics to students in these unique learning environments.
ResponsibilitiesDuring engaging lectures and hands‑on skill labs, the instructor will provide the training necessary for the students to meet pre‑defined learning objectives. In addition, maintain accurate student roster, attendance sheets, and other required records.
Minimum Qualifications- Associate Degree in Electrical Systems Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, Biomedical Equipment Technology, Construction Management, Industrial Systems Technology, Mechatronics Engineering Technology, or related degree; OR NC Electricians License.
- Two years of full-time or equivalent work experience in construction or the electrical trade.
- Experience teaching at a community college, particularly with at‑risk populations, diverse student backgrounds, and/or those who are incarcerated.
- NCCER Certifications.
- OSHA Authorized Trainer.
- Proficiency in a foreign language such as Spanish, an East Slavic language, and/or American Sign Language.
