DISCIPLESHIP PASTOR
West Asheville Baptist Church | Asheville, NC | Full-Time
West Asheville Baptist Church is seeking a full-time Discipleship Pastor to join our pastoral team and help us make followers of Jesus who make followers of Jesus.
Our Mission:
We exist to see all people who are far from God brought near to God and changed by God.
The Discipleship Pastor will provide leadership to the church’s discipleship and connection ministries, with primary responsibility for Sunday School/Groups, First Impressions and Guest Relations, guest and member follow-up, and pastoral care.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead and strengthen Sunday School/Groups, including recruiting, training, and developing leaders.
Develop new leaders and Groups to expand the church’s discipleship ministry.
Oversee First Impressions and create an excellent, welcoming experience for guests.
Develop effective systems for guest follow-up and helping people take their next step toward connection and discipleship.
Provide pastoral care, including hospital visitation, member follow-up, and care during times of crisis or need.
Develop volunteers and leaders who can effectively lead and multiply ministry.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a relational and spiritually mature pastor who loves people, develops leaders, and can build healthy ministry systems. Candidates should have pastoral or church leadership experience, strong communication and organizational skills, and full agreement with the doctrine, mission, vision, and values of West Asheville Baptist Church. Biblical or theological education is preferred.
