Business Unit Leader (BUL) – Asheville, North Carolina
At Pratt & Whitney, a world leader in aircraft engine design and manufacture, we are seeking a high-energy, dynamic team leader for Asheville Hot Section Operations.
Key Responsibilities- Drive exceptional performance across Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), quality, delivery, and cost metrics.
- Manage and coach supervisors who oversee approximately 100 hourly employees.
- Build a responsive and flexible team, empowering employees from supervisors to operators.
- Lead EHS initiatives, continuous process improvement opportunities, hourly staff planning, and critical resource allocation.
- Assist in strategic planning, including forecasts, financial planning, training, and capital expenditures.
- Establish work schedules considering customer requirements and resource availability.
- Address issues and engage the workforce in achieving business unit goals.
- Hold employees accountable while maintaining key working relationships.
- Drive a world‑class safety culture and respond promptly to all EHS requirements.
- Develop monthly delivery plans aligned with customer needs and financial obligations.
- Oversee supplier value stream performance.
- University Degree (or equivalent experience) with a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience; or advanced degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience.
- 5+ years of experience in a leadership role.
- Excellent communication skills across all levels of management, peers, customers, and clients.
- Strong project‑management skills.
- Working knowledge of continuous improvement principles.
- Ability to drive quality and customer satisfaction.
- Self‑directed, quick learner with a track record of proven results.
- U.S. citizenship required due to government contracts.
- Master’s degree in engineering, operations, business, or a technical field with 6+ years of aerospace operations experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations, business, or a technical field with 12+ years of aerospace operations experience.
$132,400 – $251,600 USD (annual)
