Position: Robotics Hardware Support Independent Contractor (1099)

We are seeking a skilled Robotics Hardware Support Contractor (immediate start) to provide on-site technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for robotic systems. This is a hands‑on role ideal for someone experienced in robotics hardware and field operations.

Educational Background

Degree or technical diploma in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or a related field with relevant hands‑on experience.

Skills / Abilities

Ability to assemble, maintain, and repair robotic hardware systems.

Experience working with:

  • Electric motors and motor drivers
  • Sensors (LiDAR, cameras, IMU, encoders, proximity sensors)
  • Industrial PCs and robot controllers
  • Wiring harnesses and connectors
  • Power systems and batteries (Li‑ion, BMS)

Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.

Ability to diagnose electrical faults, sensor failures, power distribution issues, and motor and actuator problems.

Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.

Soft Skills / Abilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for dealing with customers and cross‑functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Detail‑oriented, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement.
Work Conditions
  • On‑site support on an as‑needed basis, depending on project requirements.
  • Occasional travel may be required for deployments, maintenance activities, or training sessions.
  • Access to necessary tools, equipment, and technical support to perform on‑site interventions effectively.
Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair hardware issues in robotic systems.
  • Support robot deployments, hardware testing, validation, and maintenance as well as field installations.
  • Perform root cause analysis of hardware failures.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot sensors, actuators, and power systems.
  • Assist with hardware upgrades, replacements, and calibration.
  • Document troubleshooting procedures and repair actions.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve system reliability.
