What You Will DoPratt & Whitney Hot Section Engineering (HSE) team is looking for a highly motivated and experienced engineer to join its team as a Senior Project Engineer to support our HSE GTF Airfoil team in Asheville, NC. The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for part‑level ownership, task planning, and execution to ensure the Integrated Product Team (IPT) achieves goals for the Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT).
The IPT is responsible for the entire life cycle of the part, so the Senior Project Engineer will engage in activities ranging from validation testing to Engineering Changes, from production delivery support to field support and investigations.
- Provide project management to the IPT that includes design, structural, durability, aero, materials, and manufacturing engineers.
- Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets for the IPT in collaboration with the CIPT.
- Be accountable to the CIPT for part‑level project management, including budget, schedule, risk, and program‑requirement execution.
- Track project progress and communicate status and forecasts related to schedule, budget, and technical requirements to the CIPT and management as appropriate.
- Facilitate project tasks with functional organizations across the enterprise (e.g., procurement, manufacturing, validation) to ensure alignment with overall objectives.
- Manage hardware and validation activities for the IPT, including coordination with support organizations on delivery and necessary validation/testing execution.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
- Minimum 5years of engineering experience (or 3years related experience with an advanced degree).
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team, meet requirements, and achieve goals; technical proficiency, strong communication, and customer focus are essential.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem‑solving, and risk‑management skills.
- Results‑oriented mindset, able to drive projects to successful completion.
- Experience with project‑management and planning, including budget/schedule management and familiarity with Agile, SAP, Primavera, and/or MS Project.
- Hot‑section gas turbine component and/or module level experience.
- Experience executing Engineering Changes through the Product Change and Incorporation Review (PCIR) process.
- Experience with Smartsheets, Jira, and/or Confluence.

Salary range: $86,800 USD – $165,200 USD.
