North Carolina (Greater Charlotte Area) Up to $110,000 Base Salary + Bonus + Benefits + Relocation Assistance
A global manufacturing organization is seeking a Controls Engineer to join its engineering team at a highly automated production facility in the Greater Charlotte area.
This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of automation and controls initiatives, supporting both day-to-day manufacturing operations and long-term capital improvement projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in optimizing production processes, improving equipment performance, and driving automation improvements across the facility.
Responsibilities- Program, troubleshoot, and optimize Allen-Bradley/Rockwell PLC systems
- Support Control Logix-based manufacturing processes
- Maintain and improve HMI and SCADA applications
- Lead and support automation, controls, and process improvement projects
- Assist with equipment integration and startup activities
- Troubleshoot electrical and control system issues to minimize downtime
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to drive manufacturing performance
- Support capital projects from concept through implementation
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell PLCs and Control Logix platforms
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and control drawings
- Experience supporting industrial control systems, motor controls, VFDs, sensors, and instrumentation
- Knowledge of HMI and SCADA systems
- Experience diagnosing and resolving equipment and production issues to minimize downtime
- Understanding of industrial electrical systems including 24
VDC, 120
VAC, and 480
VAC applications - Experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment and production processes
- Strong problem-solving, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting abilities
- Base salary up to $110,000
