RVE, an Ardurra Company, is seeking a Mechanical HVAC Intern in our Asheville, NC office.
This candidate will work under general supervision and perform assignments of limited scope that require the application of standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related tasks. Projects may include HVAC system design, heating and cooling load calculations, ductwork and piping systems, equipment selection, energy efficiency improvements, building mechanical systems, and related infrastructure improvements. The intern will gain hands- on experience supporting the design and analysis of mechanical systems for a variety of building and infrastructure projects.
PrimaryFunction:
Under supervision, the Mechanical HVAC Intern will support a variety of mechanical and HVAC engineering projects and assist with day‑to‑day project tasks. This may include helping with technical documentation, basic engineering calculations, equipment selection, system layouts, data collection, site visits, and other fieldwork.
Primary Duties:- Under supervision, performs entry level duties of moderate difficulty, offering continued exposure to various departments across the organization.
- Assists with organizing data, drafting reports and providing technical support for departmental projects. May assist with updates to project documentation and spreadsheets.
- Supports professional staff on ongoing assignments and project tasks
- Applies basic understanding of different concepts and software tools to contribute to project deliverables.
- Gain further insight into the company’s structure and internal processes through hands- on assignments.
- Supports project teams with various administrative and technical assignments as needed.
- Specific activities vary by assignment.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and work ethics
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Team-oriented and self-motivated with the ability to work with a team of professionals and independently
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Bluebeam and Outlook
