Java Technical Specialist

Data Staff, Inc. is currently seeking a Java Technical Specialist for a long‑term contract opportunity in Raleigh, NC
. The selected candidate is eligible to work remotely; however, the candidate must reside in North Carolina.

• Be part of the application maintenance team serving as the technical specialist and consultant by independently managing complex Java projects and providing critical second level 24x7 on‑call support.
• Work with Business Owners in translating customer requests into technical requests and user stories.
• Coordinate software release schedules with the Business and Technical Team.
• Develop business requirements.
• Provide testing and training support.
• Have proven experience with enterprise‑level software development programs.

• 3 years experience with Java/JEE, Oracle, and XML.
• 3 years experience with Web Services, JSP, Servlets, Spring, Struts, Eclipse IDE, and version control tools.
• 3 years experience with application analysis and design, cost analysis, estimating staffing needs, testing, documentation, and implementation.
• 3 years experience in technical helpdesk support.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

• 1 year experience with Visual C++, .NET, CORBA, EJB, and Hibernate.
