Position OverviewBoeing Global Services (BGS) Engineering team is seeking an experienced and motivated Flight Simulator Device Technician (Level II) to support the F‑15EX at the Seymour Johnson AFB in North Carolina.
This role will support the next generation of fighter pilot training. The F‑15EX is one of the most advanced and strategically vital components of the USAF Strike Capabilities. As an F‑15EX Flight Simulator Device Technician, you will maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and optimize advanced flight simulation systems to ensure maximum training readiness and operational excellence.
Responsibilities- Responsible for but not limited to all operations as defined in the Performance Work Statement (PWS)
- Diagnose and remedy simulator‑related issues through analytical thinking and understanding of theory of operation
- Assist in troubleshooting to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components
- Conduct daily preflight inspections by flying a simulated mission to ensure readiness of all flight components and sensors, confirming equipment integrity and readiness for flight training
- Prioritize and perform daily maintenance and site operations to achieve maximum availability of the trainers to the customer
- Repair, test, install, configure, upgrade, and assist in hardware and software modification to the simulators
- Provide real‑time support to Instructors / Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Aircrew in all operational facets of the Weapons Tactics Trainer (WTT) during setup and execution of training missions
- Perform general network (managed switches) troubleshooting and maintenance
- Be customer oriented and positively interact with and promote workplace relationships within a diverse population of driven, motivated, and experienced professionals within the military aviation community
- Apply knowledge of Fighter Combat Tactics, and assist SMEs with building and maintaining simulator missions with Scenario Programming
- Perform additional duties as assigned (e.g., databases, ordering parts, etc.)
- Follow all local Site Security Protocols to ensure the protection of assets and prevention of mission‑related disclosures
- 3+ years’ experience in aircraft flight simulator training device maintenance, or experience in aircraft avionics/electronics or computer network and information systems
- Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance with U.S. citizenship
- Ability to obtain access to Special Access Program (SAP)
- Ability to obtain a CompTIA Security+ Certification within 90 days of start
- Associate’s degree or equivalent in related work experience
- SAP Access
- CompTIA A+, Network+ and/or Security+ Certifications (DoD 8140 equivalent certifications)
- Experience with Cisco switches, Active Directory, Windows 10, Linux
- Passion for contributing to the aerial warfighter and their mission
- Foster positive and productive work relationships within a military community of professionals
