Smith Mill Works is a community of local businesses rooted in sustainability and collaboration located in West Asheville, North Carolina. Our property provides accessible commercial rental spaces for local businesses and organizations within a dynamic environment where they can work, thrive and collaborate supported by the resources of our shared community.

We are honored to be the home of some of the most socially and environmentally impactful organizations in the region, including:
Asheville Tool Library, Mother Earth Food, Organic Growers School, Mutual Aid Disaster Relief, and Be Well Asheville. Through the resources of our 28-acre property and the collaborative mutual aid efforts of our tenant organizations, we became a hub for community relief and recovery in the wake of Hurricane Helene. We are inspired by the work our tenants continue to do in support of our greater community and the regeneration of our region.

Our current commercial rentals include: greenhouse, warehouse, office, and event space rentals. We are currently at full capacity with 16 full-time tenants. We are in an exciting moment of expansion and are developing our property to add new commercial spaces. We are committed to serving and growing our diverse ecosystem of local businesses that are dedicated to improving our community's social and environmental sustainability.
