* JOB SUMMARY:

** The Accounting Manager oversees the accounting department, managing daily operations, staff, internal controls and financial reporting.
** SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
*** Takes responsibility for the accuracy of general ledger, including recording or reviewing all journal entries, ensuring account reconciliations are prepared timely and reviewing results for anomalies.
* Manages accounting team responsible for payroll, accounts payable, project accounting and cash receipts.  Leads and develops team, including mentoring and coaching.
* Maintains robust internal controls and policies and procedures for accounting transactions.  Ensures compliance with GAAP and federal regulations.
* Evaluates business processes for effectiveness and efficiency.
* Serves as primary contact with the external accounting firm responsible for the annual audit.  Provides information necessary to complete the annual 990 filing.
* Prepares monthly financial reports for leadership and financial analysis for department leaders.  Responsible for ad hoc reporting needs.
* Assists with the preparation of the annual budget.
* Tracks and monitors progress on annual team goals and projects.  Prioritizes requests and can communicate the status of projects regularly.  Assists in developing annual goals.
* Provides support to the Finance Director as needed.
