Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour night shifts (varied days), 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM; includes every-other-weekend requirement and holiday support

- Manage complex critically ill patients on a 10-bed ICU/PCU overflow unit with strong clinical judgment
- Perform ventilator management and titrate advanced hemodynamic support safely and effectively
- Administer and monitor critical care pharmacology including sedatives, paralytics and vasopressors
- Maintain and care for central lines and assist providers with bedside procedures such as chest tube insertion and intubations
- Provide thorough bedside shift report to ensure continuity of care and excellent patient experience
- Document accurately in Cerner and communicate changes to the multidisciplinary team
- Float as needed between units, collaborating with charge nurses and supporting unit staffing needs
- Participate in nurse leader rounding when assigned as relief charge nurse to promote quality and patient satisfaction
- Active RN license (state of practice) in good standing
- Minimum 2 years of recent critical care or medical ICU/PCU experience in a large facility
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Comfortable with ventilator management, advanced hemodynamic monitoring, and central line care
- Ability to float and adapt to changing unit needs with a positive, team-first attitude
- Strong critical thinking, excellent communication skills, and demonstrated reliability for weekend/holiday rotations
- Experience with Cerner or similar electronic medical record systems preferred
- Ventilator management and pulmonary support
- Advanced hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation
- Critical care pharmacology (IV sedation, paralytics, vasopressors)
- Central line management and infection prevention
- IV pump operation and infusion titration
- Assisting with bedside procedures (intubation, chest tubes)
- Bedside shift reporting and patient-centered rounding
- Familiarity with Cerner documentation and workflows
- Ability to manage 2:1 ICU patient ratios and 4–5:1 PCU workloads
