Licensed Practical Nurse - 2nd Shift - Murdoch Developmental Center
North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services is hiring a full‑time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the 2nd shift at the Murdoch Developmental Center. This position is permanent and located in the Northeast Region of the state.
Responsibilities- Provide direct clinical services and medication & treatment administration.
- Perform and document nursing procedures and techniques as prescribed by the physician and outlined in the Person‑Centered Plan.
- Carry out duties under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and collaborate with the RN to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Report to the 2nd shift supervisor and abide by the agency’s protocols for adverse weather and emergency events.
- 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM, 15% weekday premium, 25% weekend premium.
- Shift options (multishift): 11:30 AM‑8:00 PM (8 hr), 9:30 AM‑8:00 PM (10 hr), 2:30 AM‑11:00 PM (8 hr), 12:30 PM‑11:00 PM (10 hr), 7:30 AM‑8:00 PM (12 hr) 36 / 48 h alternating weeks, 10:30 AM‑11:00 PM (12 hr) 36 / 48 h alternating weeks.
Recruitment range: $46,220.00 – $56,812.00. A sign‑on bonus of up to $4,000 may be offered, contingent on 2025‑2026 budget approval.
Qualifications- License to practice as an LPN in North Carolina.
- Eligibility to pass Healthcare Provider CPR and Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) written & physical requirements.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Good standing with the North Carolina Health Care Personnel Registry.
- Preferred: expertise in intellectual/developmental disability care and clinical nursing practice.
