RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work in cardiovascular progressive care unit (CVPC) on E4 - CVPC Heart Tower floor

• Manage patient ratio of 1:5 patients per RN

• Care for primary patient population including cardiovascular surgery and vascular surgery patients (open heart surgery, thoracic lung surgery, esophagogastrectomy, AAA repair, fem-pop bypass, carotid endarterectomies)

• Handle overflow medical cardiology patients with diagnoses of heart failure, DKA, chest pain, sepsis, heart block

• Perform procedures including epidural management, chest tube management, tube feedings, IV glucommander, and cardiac drip management

• Work with equipment including Baxter IV pumps, CADD epidural pumps, various lifts, and Cerner EMR system

• Must have stepdown and telemetry experience (candidates without these skills will not be considered)

• Prior cardiovascular surgery and vascular surgery population experience within a year preferred

• CVICU experience preferred

• Must be team player who enjoys fast-paced environment and is flexible

• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS

• Float to any stepdown (1:5 ratios) or medical surgical units (1:6-7 ratios), ER inpatient holding area (1:6)

• Dress code:
All navy, white tops/navy bottoms, or all white scrubs

• No call required

• Minimum 6 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday day/night) per 6-week schedule period required

• Must be flexible to work holidays
