Primary patient population is CV surgery and vascular surgery to include open heart surgery (CABG, AVR, MVR, Bentall, TAVR,etc), thoracic lung surgery (lobectomy, thoracotomy, etc.),esophagogastrectomy, AAA (open and endovascular), fem-pop bypass, carotid endarterectomies. We also receive overflow medical cardiology patients with diagnoses of heart failure, DKA, chest pain, sepsis, heart block, etc. Number of Beds 40 cardiac surgery stepdown beds Number of Staff approximately 100total Type of  Shift 1 charge RN (routinely out of staffing), 13 RN s, 4 PCT s, 1.33 HUCoNight Shift 1 charge RN (routinely out of staffing), 13 RN s, 4 PCT s, 0.33 HUC Patient Ratios 1:5 patients per RN, 1:13 for PCT s Type of equipment Baxter IV pumps, CADD epidural pumps, various lifts EMR - Cerner Typical hiring profile

Skill Set Most recruited   without these skills will not be considered for the role. Stepdown experience Telemetry experience

Preferred or nice to  with these skills will be considered first. Prior CV surgery and vascular surgery population experience (open heart, TAVR, lobectomy, AAA repair, and fem-pop bypass) within a year CVICU experience
