About the Position
Job Opportunity – Cardiovascular Progressive Care RN – Western North Carolina

Schedule:

12-hour shifts; minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period; holiday flexibility required
Highlights:
40-bed Cardiovascular Progressive Care unit specializing in CV surgery and vascular surgery patients
Complex patient population including open heart surgery (CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR), thoracic lung procedures, AAA repair, and fem-pop bypass
1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio in a fast-paced, high-acuity stepdown environment
Cerner EMR system with Baxter IV pumps and advanced cardiac drip protocols
Part of a nationally recognized hospital ranked in the top 1% for clinical quality and holding Magnet designation
No on-call required; flexible floating to other stepdown and medical-surgical units
Requirements:
Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state eligibility
Minimum 1 year of stepdown or telemetry experience required
ACLS and BLS certifications required
Recent cardiovascular surgery or CVICU experience strongly preferred (open heart, TAVR, vascular procedures)
Competency in epidural management, chest tube care, cardiac drip titration, and tube feedings
Team-oriented mindset with adaptability to a dynamic clinical environment
