About the Position
Job Opportunity – Cardiovascular Progressive Care RN – North Carolina

Schedule:
12-hour shifts with rotating weekends (minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period); no on-call required
Highlights:
40-bed cardiovascular stepdown unit specializing in CV surgery and vascular surgery patients, including open heart procedures, thoracic surgery, and complex vascular cases
Comprehensive patient population including CABG, valve replacements, TAVR, lung resections, and vascular interventions (AAA repair, fem-pop bypass, carotid endarterectomies)
1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with dedicated charge nurse, PCTs, and unit support
Advanced skill development including cardiac drip management, chest tube management, epidural management, and IV glucommander protocols
Work within a Magnet-designated, award-winning facility recognized as one of America's top hospitals for clinical quality and patient safety
EMR:
Cerner;
Equipment:
Baxter IV pumps, CADD epidural pumps, various patient lifts
Requirements:
Active North Carolina RN license (or ability to obtain)
Stepdown and telemetry experience required
Current ACLS and BLS certifications
Prior cardiovascular surgery or vascular surgery population experience strongly preferred (within the last year)
CVICU experience is a plus
Flexibility to float to other stepdown or medical-surgical units as needed
