This position may be a member of a team that provides support, services, and treatments necessary to provide integrated care to individuals with behavioral health diagnosis or substance use disorders. It provides oversight and general nursing care and services to persons with behavioral health challenges in the community by performing the duties listed in this job description. Relies on education, skill, and judgment to provide quality services to the people we serve with limited direction and supervision.
Education, Licensure, and Experience required for the position include:
Requires an unencumbered Registered Nursing License. For certain behavioral health services additional requirements may apply.

- 4 Days off a week! (3–12 hour shifts) – 7:45pm – 8:00am
- Shift differential for overnight/weekend hours
- Weekday Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM): +10%
- Weekend Days (7:00 AM – 6:59 PM): +10%
- Weekend Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM): +15%
- Utilize your skills and expertise, current nursing assessment skills and knowledge of nursing principles to assess and monitor clients, participate in behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment and respond to crises on a timely basis.
- Follow the supports and services as indicated in the recipients Crisis Plan, which is a component of all person centered plans.
- Participate as member of interdisciplinary team, attend Person Centered Plan (PCP) meetings, develop plans as requested.
- Comply with Controlled Substances policy and procedures in maintaining accurate inventories and controlled logs, following appropriate guidelines for investigation of discrepancies.
- Monitor consumers and take appropriate action for side effects and adverse reactions to medications.
- Assist team members with assessing learning needs of the consumers and carry out teaching as indicated.
- Complete QA activities as requested and participate in the QA process.
- Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, making recommendations for hiring, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding, motivating, disciplining and promoting team performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Ensure license of other nursing staff is in good standing as appropriate.
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, with a minimum of an Associates Degree in Nursing.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
- Meet the education, experience, licensure/certification requirements specified by the service definition of the service being provided.
- Prefer one year of nursing experience.
- Experience in behavioral health nursing preferred.
- Some college training and/or management experience helpful.
- Valid driver’s license (this is a condition of employment) including personal vehicle insurance coverage.
- Maintain proficiency in company-sponsored training and certifications and privileging if required.
- Walk, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear regularly.
- Stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl frequently.
- Occasionally sit and taste or smell.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Demonstrate proficiency in CPR from floor level; practicing CPR skills will require you to work on your hands and knees, bending, standing and lifting.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
