- Pulmonary Stepdown Travel RN (#26-17691)

Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care Unit (PCU). Onsite contract starting July 13, 2026, for 13 weeks. 12‑hour day shifts, 3 days per week (3×12).

Pay package around $2100, including $1400 tax‑free stipend. Travelers must have a permanent address more than 50 miles from the hospital.

  Asheville, NC – 509 Biltmore Ave, Floor G7, Main Campus
• Number of beds: 23 step‑down, 16 medical‑surgical
• Staffing:
  Day shift – 1 charge, 11 RN, 4 PCT;
  Night shift – 1 charge, 10 RN, 4 PCT
• Patient ratios: 1:3‑4 step‑down, 1:4‑6 medical‑surgical
• Equipment: lifts, chest tubes, cardiac drips, stable vented patients, tracheostomy tubes
• EMR:
  Cerner

• Must have: 2+ years of nursing experience, experience working with tracheostomy tubes.
• Preferred: prior Cerner experience.

• Tracheostomy care
• Chest tube management
• Wound dressing changes

• ACLS
• BLS

• Floating area(s): additional medical‑surgical and progressive care units.
• Dress code:
  Scrub color – Navy blue.
• Weekend shifts: 6 Saturday or Sunday shifts in a 6‑week period.
