RN Nurse, Healthcare Nursing
Mission Health, based in Asheville, NC, is seeking an OR Registered Nurse to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. As a key member of the surgical care team, you will provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients before, during, and after operative and invasive procedures in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment. Working within Mission Health’s culture of teamwork, respect, and professional growth, you will partner closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered care.
In this role, you will perform comprehensive preoperative assessments, verify patient histories and consents, and help prepare patients and families for surgery through clear communication and education. During procedures, you will function in circulating and/or scrubbing roles as assigned, maintaining a sterile field, anticipating the needs of the surgical team, and advocating for patient safety and comfort at all times. You will accurately administer medications, manage equipment and supplies, and respond promptly to changes in patient status, using sound clinical judgment to elevate concerns.
Postoperatively, you will coordinate smooth transitions of care, provide thorough handoffs to recovery and inpatient teams, and support patients and families with instructions and education that promote optimal recovery. You will document all assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) in a timely and precise manner, contributing to accurate communication and continuity of care. As part of Mission Health’s commitment to continuous improvement, you will actively participate in quality, safety, and evidence-based practice initiatives, helping to refine OR workflows and enhance patient outcomes.
Mission Health fosters a collaborative environment in which OR Registered Nurses are encouraged to contribute ideas, develop professionally, and pursue advancement opportunities. You will have access to ongoing education, specialty training, and potential leadership pathways as you expand your perioperative expertise. This position is ideal for a nurse who thrives in an on-site, team-oriented surgical setting, is passionate about delivering exceptional patient-centered care, and is eager to grow within a leading regional healthcare system.
The current opportunity includes a full-time OR Registered Nurse position with a competitive compensation package, comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement savings options, and the support of a mission-driven organization dedicated to improving the health and wellness of the community it serves.
