About the Role

This position may be a member of a team that provides support, services, and treatments necessary to provide integrated care to individuals with behavioral health diagnosis or substance use disorders. Provides oversight and general nursing care and services to persons with behavioral health challenges in the community by performing the duties listed in this job description.

Shift

Day Shift. 4 days off a week (3–12 hour shifts) 7:45pm–8:00am. Additional shift differentials:

  • Weekday Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM): +10%
  • Weekend Days (7:00 AM – 6:59 PM): +10%
  • Weekend Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM): +15%

Job Responsibilities
  • Utilize nursing assessment skills and knowledge of nursing principles to assess and monitor clients, participating in behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment and responding to crises on a timely basis.
  • Follow the supports and services as indicated in the recipient’s Crisis Plan.
  • Participate as member of interdisciplinary team, attending Person Centered Plan meetings, developing plans as requested.
  • Comply with Controlled Substances policy, maintaining accurate inventories and controlled logs, following guidelines for investigation of discrepancies.
  • Monitor consumers, taking appropriate action for side effects and adverse reactions to medications.
  • Assist team members with assessing learning needs of the consumers and carry out teaching as indicated.
  • Complete QA activities as requested and participate in the QA process.
  • Supervisory responsibilities including interviewing, making recommendations for hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, directing work; appraising performance; rewarding, motivating, disciplining, and promoting team performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Ensure licenses of other nursing staff are in good standing where appropriate.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, minimum of an Associates Degree in Nursing.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • Meet education, experience, licensure/certification requirements specified by the service definition.
  • Preferred one year of nursing experience.
  • Experience in behavioral health nursing preferred.
  • Some college training and/or management experience helpful.
  • Valid driver’s license with personal vehicle insurance coverage.
  • Maintain proficiency in company-sponsored training and certifications and privileging if required.
Physical and Sensory Requirements
  • Require regular walking, reaching, talking or hearing.
  • Require standing, using hands to finger, handle, feel; reach; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally require sitting and tasting or smelling.
  • Regularly lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in CPR from floor level.
  • Specific vision abilities: close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Pre‑employment Screening
  • Complete criminal background check.
  • Name checked in registries (OIG exclusions database, Child Abuse Registry, Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities).
  • Drug testing.
  • Education verification and other credentialing based on position requirements.
  • Proof of employment history or references if required.
  • If driving required, proof of driver’s license, driver’s insurance, and vehicle.
