Certified Nurse Midwife Position in Asheville, NC

Overview

Our affiliate, Unified Women's Healthcare of the Carolinas, is looking for a Full-Time Certified Nurse Midwife to join their Women's Health Care Center in Asheville, NC. Join a growing, collaborative group of physicians, certified nurse midwives, and women's health nurse practitioners who provide a team approach to patient care within a supportive practice culture. Certified nurse midwife (CNM) is responsible for working closely with both gynecologic and obstetric patients, assisting in births, and providing health care to women post‑pregnancy.

The CNM will assist with prenatal care, labor, delivery, and postpartum care, and may also provide reproductive care, treatment, and education to female patients.

• The practice has a team of 6 physicians, 1 certified nurse midwife, and 1 nurse practitioner
• Practice has a solid patient base and reputation that has been built up for over 30 years in the Asheville Metro area
• 2 days of clinic and 1 24-hour call shift per week
• Average of 15-18 patients in a clinic day
• Midwives typically perform 5-10 deliveries per month
• Strong work/life balance. Only on call 2 weekend shifts per month
• Ability to build up own patient clinic practice within the group
• Option to assist physicians with C-Section delivery procedures

• AMCB Certified Nurse‑Midwife
• Graduate of a nurse‑midwifery education program accredited by ACNM Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (ACME)
• Master's degree in Nursing (MS/MSN)
• Active and unrestricted state registered nurse (RN) license
• CPR and NALS Certification
• Current Unrestricted DEA License or ability to obtain
• One year of full‑time experience as a CNM is preferred
• Labor & Delivery experience preferred
