American Traveler is seeking an experienced Inpatient Rehab RN for a 13-week travel contract at an 80-bed rehabilitation hospital in Asheville, NC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and a valid NC or compact RN license.
Requirements- Active NC or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- Minimum 2 years of recent inpatient rehab RN experience required
- Med-surg background accepted; rehab experience is a plus
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- Inpatient rehabilitation hospital setting — the only rehab hospital in Western NC (not a SNF)
- Assigned to the IRF Rehab Unit, with all four units connected and interchangeable
- 65-bed unit serving patients with conditions including stroke, traumatic brain injury, and amputation
- Patient ratio of 5-6 patients per nurse
- CNAs available on all shifts; unit secretary support available for 11 hours per day
- Equipment includes IV pumps, specialty beds, feeding pumps, lifts and transfer equipment, and life vests
- Two on-unit dialysis rooms serviced by nurses from an outside facility
- Documentation system:
Meditech - Day shift: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM (12-hour shifts), predominantly weekends
- No floating — all units are connected and interchangeable
- Provide nursing care to patients recovering from stroke, TBI, amputation, and other acute conditions in a rehabilitation setting
- Scrub requirement: navy scrubs with white tops
- One professional reference required (two required for candidates licensed in Florida or Missouri)
