Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Progressive Care
Location:
Asheville, NC
Assignment Duration:
This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule:
Shift: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM
Job Description:
The Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit specializes in caring for patients post-cardiac surgery and vascular surgery. The primary patient population includes those who have undergone procedures such as open heart surgeries, thoracic lung surgery, and various vascular interventions.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and monitor patients recovering from cardiovascular and thoracic procedures.
- Administer medication, including cardiac management drugs and epidural medications.
- Perform chest tube management and IV gluccomander tasks.
- Ensure proper feeding and hydration protocols are followed.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for patient-centered care.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:
- Valid RN license.
- ACLS and BLS certification required.
- Telemetry experience and stepdown care experience.
- Preferred:
Experience with cardiovascular and vascular surgery populations.
