Job Description:
The Registered Nurse in the Cardiovascular Progressive Care unit will provide high-quality care to patients undergoing cardiovascular and vascular surgery. The primary patient population includes those requiring open-heart surgeries, thoracic surgeries, and overflow medical cardiology patients.
Responsibilities:
- Manage patient care for cardiovascular and vascular surgery patients.
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
- Perform and assist with procedural tasks such as chest tube management and epidural management.
- Utilize telemetry to monitor cardiac patients.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to assess and implement patient care plans.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required.
- ACLS and BLS certifications required.
- Stepdown and telemetry experience essential.
- Prior experience with cardiovascular surgeries preferred.
