American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level II trauma center requiring at least 1 year of ER experience and multiple specialty certifications.
Details- Level II trauma center Emergency Department with 101 beds
- Patient ratios typically 4:1 for medical patients, up to 7:1 on behavioral holds
- Techs available for cardiac monitoring, internal processing area, and triage support
- Unit clerks staffed on days and nights
- Equipment includes Baxter pumps and GE monitors
- Documentation in Cerner
- Shift runs 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
- Every other weekend scheduling required, with scheduling based on departmental needs rather than block scheduling
- No floating outside the ED, but must be open to floating to all sections within the ED
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS prior to start date
- ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- At least 1 year of recent ER experience required
- Experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (>100,000 visits annually) preferred
- Previous HCA experience preferred
- Strong teamwork mentality and ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
- Flexibility to work in all areas of the ED
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- Provide emergency care to a diverse patient population, including medical and behavioral health patients
- Deliver patient experience standards including AIDET, respectful behavior, and consistent patient updates via visit boards
- Work within a team known for strong collaboration and welcoming culture
- Serve a multicultural community representing over 120 languages
- Required to wear navy scrubs
- Attendance policy provided on first day of assignment
- Facility does not accept local candidates; a 50-mile radius rule applies
